Sixteen-time ACM, nine-time CMA, and Grammy Award-winning artist Lainey Wilson continues her remarkable rise with the release of her latest single, “Somewhere Over Laredo,” out today via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville.
Co-written by Wilson, Trannie Anderson, Dallas Wilson, and Andy Albert, the new track tips its hat to the classic “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” It features Wilson’s signature storytelling and genuine country roots, reflecting on lost love and honoring small-town life across America.
Live Debut at the American Music Awards
Wilson is set to perform “Somewhere Over Laredo” live for the first time at the 2025 American Music Awards on Monday, May 26, where she’s also nominated for Favorite Female Country Artist.
The song will officially impact country radio on Tuesday, May 27 via Broken Bow Records, with a world premiere airing across all major U.S. country stations today.

A Year of Unstoppable Momentum
“Somewhere Over Laredo” arrives on the heels of a landmark year for Wilson. At the 60th Annual ACM Awards, she earned four trophies:
- Entertainer of the Year (second consecutive win)
- Female Artist of the Year (third consecutive win)
- Album of the Year for Whirlwind
- Artist-Songwriter of the Year
During the ceremony, she also debuted her song “Trailblazer” alongside Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert—a powerful collaboration written by Wilson, Lambert, and Brandy Clark.
Whirlwind World Tour and Chart Success
Wilson is currently on the road with her Whirlwind World Tour, selling out arenas across North America following a fully sold-out run in the U.K. and Europe earlier this year. Stops include:
The tour follows the release of Whirlwind, Wilson’s most acclaimed album to date. Produced by Grammy-winning producer Jay Joyce, it debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200—Wilson’s first top 10 appearance—and earned her best sales week ever.
