Neo-traditional country artist Chancey Williams returns with his fourth single of 2025, “Pearl Snap Preacher,” now available on all digital streaming platforms. The reflective ballad paints a vivid picture of cowboy spirituality, capturing the kind of quiet faith practiced in open fields rather than church pews.

Written by Cody Robbins, Kayley Bishop, and Nick Deleo, “Pearl Snap Preacher” centers on a rancher who may not be in Sunday services every week, but who embodies spiritual values through his daily life. As the lyrics put it, he’s a “pastor in the pasture,” ministering through hard work and humility.

“I think a lot of farmers and ranchers and people who come from rural areas will especially relate to ‘Pearl Snap Preacher’ and see the character in themselves or people they know,” Williams told Wide Open Country. “I’m definitely who I am because of both of my parents. Their unwavering faith, not only in God, but also in each other, and in the benefits of hard work and always trying to do the right thing, is just part of who I am now. I don’t really wear my faith on my sleeve, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t with me everywhere I go.”

A Personal Connection: Music Video Stars Williams’ Father

The official music video, also released today, brings the story home in more ways than one. Loosely inspired by Williams’ own father, Dennis Williams, the video features him in the lead role. Through sentimental storytelling and heartfelt imagery, viewers gain a rare glimpse into the artist’s roots.

“We had a blast making the video for ‘Pearl Snap Preacher,’” Williams told Holler. “My dad is the star of it! He does go to church on a regular basis but, in other ways, is very much like the guy in the song. A lot of who I am as a person, I learned from watching my dad and working on the ranch with him, as much as listening to him or specifically what he said.”

A Strong 2025: Four Singles and a Summer Tour

“Pearl Snap Preacher” is the fourth single Williams has released this year. He kicked off 2025 with “The Ballad of Uncle Don,” a vivid piece of storytelling infused with rock and classic country influences. That song’s video spent five consecutive weeks at #1 on CMT’s 12 Pack countdown.

He followed it up with “Miles On Me,” a road-worn anthem about weathering life’s storms with the support of a loving partner. “Take One For The Team,” another standout, offered a humorous yet cautionary tale delivered with Williams’ signature grit and twang.

Now on his Miles On Me Tour, Williams is traveling the country through the end of July. One of the highlights will be his mainstage performance at Cheyenne Frontier Days on July 23, opening for Brooks & Dunn. The appearance marks another milestone for the Wyoming native and Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame inductee.
