Country traditionalist Jon Wolfe is raising a glass to a new chapter in his career with the release of his latest album, Barstool Therapy: Session One, now available on all streaming platforms. Produced by GRAMMY®-nominated Dave Brainard, the eight-track collection captures Wolfe at his most genuine and reflective, weaving stories of heartbreak, healing, and the quiet wisdom found in a neon-lit barroom.

Anchored by his unmistakable baritone and a sound rooted in classic country tradition, Wolfe blends honky-tonk swagger with emotional storytelling throughout the record. The project features fan-favorite singles like “The Older I Get (More Country I’m Gettin’ to Be)” and “Tequila Cowboys” featuring Randy Rogers, offering a balance of grit, charm, and sincerity.

“‘Barstool Therapy: Session One’ digs into my earliest influences as a country music fan and artist,” Wolfe shared. “This album leans into my heroes: Merle Haggard, Hank Jr., Waylon, and George Strait. I guess you could say it’s me as a country music singer/songwriter on default, just being myself and having fun with country music – the genre I fell in love with as a teenager. I’m super proud of this album and I hope folks love it as much as I do! Pop a top and sit down for some Barstool Therapy.

A Toast to Classic Country Storytelling

Each song on Barstool Therapy: Session One reflects Wolfe’s signature storytelling style, delivering lyrics that feel lived-in and true. From the title track’s late-night confessions to the tender reflection of “Jesus and Marianne,” the album channels the timeless spirit of traditional country music. It’s a reminder that heartache and healing often share the same barstool.

The title track, released earlier this fall, also inspired a creative and humorous music video featuring Texas-based comedian Uncle Lazer. Directed by Mason Dixon and filmed at Riley’s Tavern, the oldest bar in Texas the video follows Wolfe in the role of “Dr. Wolfe,” a tongue-in-cheek therapist prescribing “barstool therapy” to a struggling Lazer. The story unfolds as Lazer discovers his remedy in a neon-soaked honky-tonk filled with jukebox tunes, longnecks, and laughter. The video also includes a cameo by rising Texas artist Braxton Keith.

About Jon Wolfe

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in nearby Miami, Wolfe’s love for country music was evident from an early age. He built his career in the Texas country scene alongside artists like Randy Rogers and Hayes Carll, steadily gaining recognition for his blend of traditional sound and heartfelt songwriting.

His earlier albums, It All Happened in a Honky Tonk, Natural Man, and Any Night in Texas (which featured the viral hit “Boots on a Dance Floor”), solidified his place among Texas country favorites. His 2021 release Dos Corazones showcased a more introspective side, earning praise for its depth and creativity.

Now, with Barstool Therapy: Session One, Wolfe continues to evolve while staying true to his roots. Created in collaboration with longtime partners Dave Brainard and Tony Ramey, the album represents Wolfe’s ongoing pursuit of authenticity.

“I’m not chasing fame. I’m chasing the spark,” he shared. “Whether it’s a song, a painting, or a label on a bottle—I just want to make something real.”
