Acclaimed country-rock band 49 Winchester has announced their forthcoming album Change of Plans, set to arrive May 15 via Lucille Records and MCA. Alongside the announcement, the Virginia-based six-piece has released their latest track, “Pardon Me,” offering a glimpse into the band’s next chapter.
The new song blends the group’s Appalachian-rooted sound with a more introspective, forward-looking tone that sets the stage for the upcoming project. Fans can pre-order Change of Plans now and stream “Pardon Me” across digital platforms.
A New Era Produced by Dave Cobb
Change of Plans was executive produced by Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb at his Savannah, Georgia studio. The album follows a string of critically praised releases and finds the band expanding their sonic range while staying grounded in the storytelling that has defined their career. The project reflects both personal and creative growth shaped by years on the road and a continued commitment to authenticity.
“Pardon Me” showcases that evolution, pairing rugged instrumentation with emotional honesty and vulnerability. The track follows the band’s first release under Lucille Records and MCA, a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes.” MCA is partnering with New West Records for the band’s upcoming 2026 release, with all future projects set to arrive exclusively through MCA.
From Appalachia to the Ryman and Beyond
Hailing from Virginia, 49 Winchester blends Southern rock and country with raw, narrative-driven songwriting. The band has built a dedicated fanbase through their high-energy live shows and recently brought that momentum to two nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on November 14 and 15.
The lineup includes singer-songwriter Isaac Gibson, lead guitarist Bus Shelton, bassist Chase Chafin, pedal steel player Noah Patrick, keyboardist Tim Hall, and drummer Justin Louthian. Together, they channel the heart, humor, and hard-earned wisdom of Appalachia in their music.
