Award-winning singer-songwriter Trey Calloway has released his new single, “Left Hand,” today.
The emotional country track explores the heartbreak of a relationship that was supposed to lead to a lifetime together but ended before those plans could become reality. Through heartfelt lyrics and vivid storytelling, Calloway looks back on lost love, broken plans and the ways people try to cope while learning to move forward.
“Left Hand” was previously premiered by Country Evolution and has also been featured on Spotify’s Country Hits 2026 playlist, which has nearly 1.2 million followers.
Trey Calloway Brings a 90s Country Feel to “Left Hand”
Calloway describes “Left Hand” as a combination of the raw heartbreak associated with classic 90s country and a more energetic modern rhythm.

The lyrics center on the life Calloway imagined with a former partner, from a home and family to a wedding day that never happened. Instead of those plans becoming reality, the narrator finds himself back at the bar, trying to drink away the memories.
The song’s chorus brings that regret into sharp focus, imagining the wedding that should have been and the gold band that should have ended up on his finger.

Trey Calloway Announces New EP
“Left Hand” arrives ahead of Calloway’s new EP, Honkytonk Generation, which is set for release November 6.
The project introduces a new chapter in Calloway’s music alongside producer and co-writer Phil O’Donnell. With more than two decades in the music business, O’Donnell has written No. 1 hits for George Strait, Blake Shelton and Montgomery Gentry. He has also worked with Cody Johnson, Chris Janson, Craig Morgan, Clay Walker, Aaron Watson and Craig Campbell.
O’Donnell’s experience and traditional country roots bring a new element to Calloway’s upcoming project.

North Carolina-grown and Nashville-based, Trey Calloway grew up singing in church and was a seasoned performer by the age of ten. Although southern and contemporary gospel were his first musical loves, Calloway developed a deep understanding and passion for the rocking, boot-stomping storytelling of 90s country legends as a teenager. He has been writing and performing country music ever since.
Calloway has opened shows for Joe Diffie, Tracy Lawrence, McBride & The Ride, Pat Green, Edwin McCain and Craig Campbell. He has also performed for audiences at the Charlotte Speed Street NASCAR Festival, the House of Blues, Billy Bob’s Texas and the Tennessee State Fair Opry Stage.
