Dani Taylor Discusses Self-Titled EP

We chatted with Dani Taylor to find out more about her latest EP and how she got started in country music.

How did you first get involved in music?

I moved to Nashville 3 years ago to pursue country music. I did musicals as a kid and was always musically-inclined.

Why is music important to you?

Music is important to me because it helps heal all the hurt and puts you in a better mood whether you’re in a good or bad mood. It is always there in the background to make you feel better, it’s always there for every milestone in life. So many memories are tied to music.

How would you describe your musical style?

I would describe my musical style as fresh and positive. I always try to put a positive twist on every song I write.

Who are some of your musical influences?

Kacey Musgraves

You just released the lyric video for “Midnight Cowgirl” from your debut EP. Tell me about this single.

It is a song about accepting the love you deserve. The love you deserve is the love within yourself. Instead of being caught in negative relationships or situations, it’s about finding the strength and love for yourself first.

Dani Taylor’s Lyric Video

Your EP has 3 songs, “Midnight Cowgirl”, “You Can Thank Me Later” and “Kiss Me If You Can”. What inspired you to make this EP?

I was inspired to showcase pieces of who I am through this EP. “Midnight Cowgirl” was about finding love for yourself. “You Can Thank Me Later” is about listening to your intuition and getting rid of a toxic relationship. “Kiss Me If You Can” is about being flirty and wanting real life connection instead of connecting over the internet.

What is your favorite released single and why?

“Midnight Cowgirl” because it’s helped me realize a lot about myself. It’s one of the first songs I have written about myself. I think it’s important to take the love you give to toxic people and give it to yourself. You’ll be a lot happier in life.

How do you hope your fans feel when listening to your music?

I hope they can find peace, happiness, or whatever it is they are looking for to help them through whatever they’re going through at the moment.

Is there anything else you would like to say to the country community?

Thank you to everyone who has listened to my music!
