Josh Gallagher Admits Who His ‘Bright Side’ Is

Breakthrough on The Voice

Josh Gallagher was a contestant on Season 11 of the reality singing competition The Voice back in 2016. He claims that the knockout stage was his the most memorable moment. Influenced by artists like Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Brothers Osborne, and Eric Church, the Nashville-native sang his heart out while performing in front of the nationally televised audience.

Josh states that “I got stolen by Adam Levine when I was signing against Sundance Head who was my roommate for two months while I was on the show. The two of us were always going back and forth in our room on who was going to beat who during the knockout stage. So when we finally performed against one another, Sundance Head opened his mouth and I was like ‘Yep, I am going home.’ He was amazing and he ended up beating me. But then Adam Levine stole me and I was like ‘Wow, I am staying on the show and now I sort of have a ‘second chance’.”

Josh Gallagher ended up becoming the first country music artist on Team Adam Levine to make the finals on The Voice

Josh further stated that “I was so lucky to be on the show in the first place because there were so many contestants auditioning. Eighty-thousand, in fact. So how far I made it was incredible.”

The artist also claims it was one of the smartest moves he’d ever made in his life. He expresses that “if anyone has any little desire to audition for the show, you should, because it can change your life.”

Who is Josh Gallagher’s ‘Bright Side’?

Although Josh and his band have not performed in front of big crowds on stage for over a year like many other artists, that hasn’t stopped him from releasing new music. But, with a high amount of vaccinations in the Nashville area, the artist has been able to do small performances in front of people three times a week during the past two months. He also plans to do a few shows in Reidsville, North Carolina. One of the songs Josh intends on performing is his latest single ‘Bright Side’. Released on April 7, the song is already becoming a fan favorite.

He explains that “I wrote ‘Bright Side’ about my wife. For anyone that is in a relationship, you know that you always joke around with your buddies and ask one another, ‘Well where’s your better half?’ And that is something that I always do with my friends. But, the reason I wrote ‘Bright Side’ for my wife is that I believe that she is 100% my better half.”

Josh’s ‘Bright Side’ is melodically mysterious and possesses an eerie guitar lick throughout. In addition, once you start listening to Josh’s record, you can hear the Eric Church influence in his style of play. On a different note, he states that the upcoming music he has planned for his fans will lean more to his influenced rock and roll side. Lastly, Josh plans on releasing a new single every month this year in hopes of putting all of them into one big EP/album by the end of 2021.
