Rising country artist Lakelin Lemmings has officially released her self-titled debut album, available today through QHMG and Quartz Hill Records.
The 16-track collection marks a major milestone for the West Tennessee native, highlighting her growth as both a songwriter and performer. Produced by award-winning songwriter and producer Ash Bowers, the album features 15 songs co-written by Lemmings, who celebrated her 20th birthday just last month.
Lakelin Lemmings Showcases a Promising New Voice
Blending traditional country influences with a contemporary sound, Lakelin Lemmings explores themes of young love, heartbreak, faith, confidence, and growing up. The project reflects the authenticity that has helped the young singer quickly gain attention from fans and the country music industry alike.
“Bad Boy Good” Leads the Album
Serving as the album’s focus track, “Bad Boy Good” tells the story of the timeless attraction to the wrong person and the lessons learned along the way.
The modern country waltz balances full-band arrangements with more intimate acoustic moments while exploring frustration, disappointment, and the process of healing.
Lemmings co-wrote the song with Ash Bowers, known for Matt Stell’s No. 1 hit “Prayed for You,” and Mike Mobley, who co-wrote Rascal Flatts’ Platinum-certified hit “Easy.” Bowers also produced the track.

Finding Her Voice in the Writing Room
In a conversation earlier this year at Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, Lemmings reflected on how her songwriting has evolved over time, especially as she began collaborating with other writers. “Yeah, I mean, when you go into a writer’s room with a new person, you never really know what the vibe is going to be or if you work well together. But luckily for me, with the people I wrote with on this EP, we are old friends by now, Neil Cody, Mikey Mobley and Ash Bowers, who is my producer. We really we’ve got it nailed down, and we’ve got a great relationship that I’m very thankful for.”
She added that her journey into songwriting started early. “So I was around 12 years old when I first started writing songs. We’ve been at it a while.”
That early start helped shape her perspective, moving from writing alone to embracing collaboration. “I learned a lot because I started writing songs about myself just in my room, and they were good, you know, a lot of rainbows, butterflies, that kind of thing. But when I started writing to other people, it was nice to have another opinion.”
First International Performances Scheduled
Following the album’s release, Lemmings is preparing for her first performances overseas.
The singer will travel to England for several August appearances, including two performances at the Country Calling Music Festival at Kings Farm in Chelmsford on Aug. 16. She will also perform at FortyFive Vinyl in York on Aug. 17 and appear at B: Music Symphony Hall in Birmingham on Aug. 19 as part of the Nashville Sounds in the Round: Country Calling Takeover.
Additional tour dates are expected to be announced.
Growing Confidence as an Artist
Like many young artists, Lemmings admitted that stepping into co-writing sessions initially felt intimidating. “Yeah, I was actually so scared, because at first, when I started writing with people, I apologized to the people I first started writing with, because I was like, just a fly on the wall.”
Over time, that hesitation turned into confidence and passion for the craft. “But no, like, once I develop those relationships with the writers and got a little bit more confident in my writing, and I speak up more, it just became second nature, and now I’m in love with songwriting.”
Built on Influences and Real Life
Growing up in West Tennessee, Lemmings developed her sound through a mix of classic country and pop influences.
She credits artists like Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Loretta Lynn, LeAnn Womack, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood as key inspirations, along with a touch of pop influence from Taylor Swift.
She also shared a personal detail that shaped her musical upbringing, “Yeah, my papa, he has a Elvis room. He’s had it ever since before I was born, I believe. And so I just thought everybody had one.”
That early exposure to Elvis Presley left a lasting impression on her performance style and musical identity.
Continuing Momentum
With her debut album now available and an international tour on the horizon, Lakelin Lemmings continues establishing herself as one of country music’s emerging young artists.
