“It is very me and when I say that, you know, I grew up with ‘90s country women so I really tried to connect that into this song and I hope [my fans] hear that,” Taylor said.
The tune perfectly portrays the feeling of having a crush on someone who doesn’t recognize the prize in front of them.
It recognizes the agony- sleepless nights, nervousness, the thirst for recognition- that one experiences upon developing feelings for someone.

The artist says she finds the song relatable and hopes that her fans relate to the single as well.

“I definitely related to it when I first heard it. Just being single and wanting to find a guy that I can experience all the fun adventures that a relationship comes with,” she said.
Taylor explained that since the song was released, she has already received notifications showing her fans singing the tune passionately in the cars.
“I think it’s great,” she remarked.
Written by Jimmy Robbins, Ricolle Galyon and Shelley Skidmore, Taylor says her and her team were able to make “I Know A Girl” her dream song.
“We just made it like my dream song that I’ve always wanted to record and release. It was really amazing,” she said.
Similar to her first release, “Dads and Daughters”, Taylor says that both songs are really meaningful in her eyes. What separates “I Know A Girl” from “Dads and Daughters” is her new song allows her to stand out.
Many people have been surprised at the range she displays in “I Know A Girl”.
“It’s really cool to show another side of myself,” Taylor humbly laughed.
