Nathan Merovich Discusses Life “Raised In The Stx”

Nathan Merovich: Background

For anyone not familiar with Nathan Merovich, they will be by the end of 2021. The Pennsylvania-native just released his first album of his country music career and it has a little bit of everything for anyone who may be a fan of country music. Further, his album includes contemporary, traditional and ballad-styles of country music. However, Nathan is not new to the music world. He learned how to play the guitar and started singing around the age of six years old.

Influences and Style of Music

At the age of six, Nathan began listening to older country music artists like Johnny Cash, George Strait, Riley Green, and Waylon Jennings. However, as he grew up, the artist became familiar with more contemporary artists like Dustin Lynch.

“And for sure these guys gave me a ‘bump’ and sort of will to want to create music,” Nathan explains.

Of course the artists Nathan grew up listening to were influential in his life. However, he believes that his musical style is unique and sticks out in comparison to guys like Cash, Strait, Green and Jennings.

He states that “I want to write my music about specific life experiences that I go through.”

And with that said, there is no better person than Nathan to write and sing about the life he has endured. In fact, on Nathan’s most recent LP release Raised In The Stx, the artist sings about previous experiences in his life that stick out to him to this day. The LP came out on all streaming platforms on May 28, 2021.

Nathan Merovich: Raised In The Stx

When asked about how Raised In The STX came about, Nathan said that “I wanted to write some songs about getting some buddies together and having a good old time in the country.” Some of the things he loves to do with his friends include, “…big bonfires in the fields, fishing, hunting, tearing up the fields with trucks, and making turkey calls.”

It must be noted that Nathan believes Raised In The Stx is an album that anyone can listen to while enjoying some of his favorite activities. In addition, Nathan is steadily making headway in the country music world by releasing new music and opening for big acts. Nathan has opened for Big & Rich, Chris Janson, Dylan Scott, Cowboy Troy, Filmore, Seaforth, Caylee Hammack, Sam Grow and many more.

Performances in the Past and Present

Nathan notes that “…the experience has meant so much to me and has helped me really grow as an artist. By watching what they do and learning from my mistakes. It also made me more comfortable on stage with these guys.”

Aside from opening for other artists at their shows, Nathan is currently performing acoustic shows and playing at private parties. Nathan confesses he has been fortunate enough to play at different shows throughout the pandemic unlike most other artists. He has played at small bars and made it work even with mask mandates in place around Pennsylvania.

What’s Next for Nathan Merovich in 2021?

Although Nathan just released his first album, he already has plans for more music this year.

He states that “Everyone should be on the lookout for some new singles and possibly another LP.”
